 GETTING PREPARED
Chesapeake
Adventures trips are a once in a lifetime experience so we strongly
recommend that participants come prepared to take full advantage of
their time on the water. First and foremost, please arrive for your trip
well rested and healthy. Chesapeake Adventures trips are fun, but
rigorous. Make sure you get a few good nights of sleep before you
arrive!
While not
required, some advance reading can greatly enhance your experience.
Listed below are several suggestions for books about the Chesapeake Bay
and Tall Ship sailing that you might want to read.
“Chesapeake” by James
A. Michener
“Beautiful Swimmers” by William Warner
“Bay Country” by Tom Horton
“Turning the Tide” by Tom Horton
Finally, and
most importantly, it is imperative that you pack proper clothing and
gear for your trip. There is very limited space on all Chesapeake
Adventures trips so we ask that you follow the packing guidelines below.
Suggested Packing List
for Overnight Trips
Space is
very limited! Please pack your belongings in no more than two bags,
including a single modest water resistant duffle bag for your clothing
and gear, and a separate waterproof bag for your sleeping bag. You may
also want to bring a small backpack for shore expeditions. Please, don’t
overpack!
